Summary:
Advanced Physician Services, PC, the Academic Practice of the WMCHealth Network seeks full-time board certified AnatomicPathologist. The succesful applicantwill provideanatomic pathology services, including the performance of all consultations, procedures, and other related services required by patients, in accordance withdelineation of privileges on each Practice Site's Medical Staff, as applicable. Such duties shall include your provision of weeknight and weekend on-call services in general proportion to the number of physicians in the Section at a given time, or otherwise as reasonably requested by the Director. They will also coordinate your activities with the clinical referring services at each Practice Site to ensure optimal patient care. The final candidate will also support institutional academic and scholarly missions, and participate in providing education and training of students, residents, and staff. The candidate will join an academic department, which has a strong and diverse faculty, an ACGME accredited residency program, and supportive atmosphere for practicing anatomic pathology.
Responsibilities:
- Meet TAT goals for Anatomic Pathology services
- Participate in subspecialty sign out in Neuropathology including CNS examination for autopsy service, and Renal Pathology
- Participate sometimes with other pathologists for adult autopsy service.
- Participate in General Surgical intraoperative consultation and rapid on site evaluation
- Participate to provide On Call coverage with other pathologists in Anatomic Pathology
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with clinical colleagues
- Participate and support tumor boards and clinical conferences in related subspecialty areas
- Develop, maintain and lead a strong Quality Assurance program in Anatomic Pathology especially in related subspecialty areas
- Participate and support in teaching program for residents/fellows in Pathology and related clinical subspecialties
- Participate and support teaching programs for medical and graduate students at NYMC
- Develop personal scholarship program in conjunction with colleagues, residents and students
- Contribute to maintain/promote a positive academic clinical learning environment
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees and meetings as requested by the Department Director
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of billing codes for cases signed out
- Participate and comply with any billing audits
Qualifications / Requirements
- Candidates must have an M.D, or M.D./Ph.D (or foreign equivalent degree)
- Possession/eligibility for an unrestricted medical license to practice in New York State
- Possession/eligibility to obtain appropriate Certificates of Qualification (CoQ) for Medical Directorship in New York State is preferred.
- Board certification in combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, or in Anatomic Pathology
- Additional Certification/ experience in subspecialty board/area will be a plus.
