Job Description

Conducts abbreviated behavioral health evaluations to determine most appropriate level of care treatment for both adult and pediatric patients.

1. Conduct clinical assessment, including "return to school" clearances, with clear and concise documentation around presenting problem and clinical recommendations for adult and pediatric patients in need of behavioral health services.
2. Maintains accurate and up to date patient documentation records according to policy.
3. Collaborates with other mental health professionals, family members, work/school administration and/or other pertinent collaborators in order to coordinate care.
4. Conduct short-term therapy, when necessary, to help bridge patient to ongoing care, if necessary.
5. Provide support, information, advocacy and guidance through the system and linkage to outside behavioral health networks as necessary
6. Collaborate and engage family; provide education, support, and crisis intervention as needed.
7. Manage appropriate transfer to alternate facilities for patients requiring inpatient hospitalization.
8. Participate in ongoing profession development activities to stay current on best practice in the field of behavioral health
9. Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
10. All other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field
2. State licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or license-eligible (LSW) with active supervision.
3. Prior experience in crisis intervention or acute behavioral health settings preferred.
4. Strong therapeutic, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
5. Bilingual a plus

1. Demonstrate considerable expertise in the areas of psychosocial assessment, screens effectively for suicide and violence risk, as well as abuse and neglect; determination of appropriate level of care and/or clinical interventions.
2. Ability to multi - task, organize & prioritize workload required.
3. Ability to work within a team as well as independently to make complex decision making with high degree of accuracy.
4. Able to work in a quick paced environment.
5. Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards.
6. Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
