Nonexempt (Hourly â�� Eligible for overtime)
This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS
Administers treatment after evaluating the assigned patient.
Assesses and diagnosis patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
Assists as a preceptor to new staff and students in the area assigned.
Creates and discusses the plan of care with each patient and family member assigned.
Directs licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned.
Ensures patient records are up-to-date and accurate documentation is recorded in order to provide quality care.
Identifies the medical issues and provides nursing care for the assigned patient. Reassesses the patient to ensure proper quality of care was delivered.
Other duties as assigned.
Required: Associate's degree in nursing/Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree)

American Heart Association PALS and NIH Certification required within first 30 days of hire.
NIHSS within 120 days of hire and / or before the end of department orientation.
American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) within 120 days of hire and then every two years. STABLE (American Academy of Pediatrics) within 180 days of hire and then every two years.
Labor and Delivery RN
American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) within 120 days of hire and then every two years. Within the first year of hire AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, After one year of experience Nurse Evaluator designation, Second year of experience AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring. Fetal Monitoring required every two years.
American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) within 120 days of hire and then every two years. IBCLC certified or working toward certification.
Mother Baby RN
American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) within 120 days of hire and then every two years.
Vascular Access/PICC RN
Intravenous (IV) Certification and Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) Certification required within 90 days of hire.
Wound Care RN
Wound, Ostomy or Continence (WOCN), Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) or Wound Care Certified (WCC).
Please note: New hires with expired ACLS cards must complete the ACLS course or present a current ACLS card issued by the American Heart Association within 60 days from hire date.
Attends all mandatory education and training programs (including department specific) and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance as well as department safety and specific job-related hazards.
Maintains all required CEUs for certifications and licensure.
Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
Attire is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment, according to the BBH Appearance & Hygiene Policy and/or Department Appearance Policy.
Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standard for attendance, based upon the department attendance policy.
