Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Abdominal Transplant Surgeon. Candidates must be Board Certified in General Surgery and Transplant Surgery. The predominant criteria for appointment are a commitment to research, teaching, and patient satisfaction, excellence in clinical care, and institutional service. Experience in all aspects of abdominal transplant surgery is highly desired. The ideal candidate for this position has expertise in laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy, liver transplantation, kidney pancreas transplantation, and vascular access . Candidates should be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or above.
Transplant surgery is a part of the Solid Organ Transplant Service Line along with hepatology and transplant nephrology. Across all three practices, the program offers services at over ten locations throughout the Chicagoland area. The transplant program is known for excellent patient quality, as supported by outcomes reported through the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), and its commitment to a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach towards providing patient care.
