The Surgical Nurse Coordinator provides assistance and support to the surgical physicians throughout a variety of clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative health areas in an outpatient setting. He/she will assist with selective diagnostic tests and procedures under the direction of the staff surgeon. The duties of the Surgical Nurse Coordinator are as follows (but not limited to): Assists with the scheduling of the respective surgical clinic and operating or minor procedure room. Establish and maintain collaborative and communicative relationships within their respective surgical section and other clinical ancillary or administrative Ensures and enhances the quality of services provided to surgical patients and their significant others Foster patient trust and confidence through integrity, knowledge, teaching, availability and continuity. Plans, organizes, and when appropriate, directs and supervises the activities of others such as medical assistants and ancillary personnel Demonstrates excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships May be assigned responsibilities as a preceptor and functions as a resource for colleagues as needed The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, or community (ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses) Must be willing to float to other surgical sections as needed Other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm - Monday to Friday Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
