As a Health Technician, you will provide clinical and administrative support in a wide variety of patient care and work related activities in the Urology Clinic at the Gainesville North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health This position is located at the Gainesville VA Medical Center of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System. Duties include but are not limited to: Prior to surgical procedures, independently sets up the sterile field with all required instrumentation and supplies During surgical procedures, organizes and handles all instrumentation and, supplies, on the sterile field and documents procedures as appropriate Maintains aseptic technique Operates and monitors equipment in accordance with established procedures and equipment directions. Maintains a clean, safe environment Performs lab specimens, reports abnormal results according to policy. Communicates independently with patient and staff Assists with maintaining RM equipment Assists team members with minor operative procedures (i.e. Foley catheterizations etc.) Possess physical ability to stand for long periods of time, frequent moving, and lifting of patients and equipment required. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Position Description/PD#: Health Technician/04757-A Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Physical Requirements: This position requires long periods of standing with few breaks, as well as lifting, bending, positioning patients, and some movement of cumbersome equipment. Good body mechanics, personal stamina, and excellent powers of concentration are necessary to participate in lengthy procedures.
