The incumbent practices as a registered nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), within the Inpatient and Emergency Services Division (IESD). The Critical Care Unit (CCU) is a medical, surgical and coronary care unit. Patient populations include: various medical conditions, cardiovascular, pulmonary, GI conditions and post-surgical care for cardiac surgery, liver/renal transplants, vascular, orthopedic and neurosurgery. The CCU RN is accountable, when assigned as a primary nurse, for a defined group of patients on his/her shift. Based on education and experience, the incumbent may be assigned responsibilities as a preceptor or charge nurse.
