Relocation and Recruitment incentive may be approved for highly qualified candidate. Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay), pay will be prorated based on the hours worked per pay period. This position is located in the Medical Service of the Martinsburg VA Medical Center and is a part time staff position. Nephrology subspecialists serve as consultants for patients with kidney diseases and disorders, such as long-term dialysis patients. Privileges for specific procedures include initiation and monitoring of peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and renal biopsy. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Performs the following Nephrology Special Procedures: Percutaneous native kidney biopsy, Percutaneous transplant kidney biopsy. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of information and complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). Obtains and document comprehensive medical and phycological history and physical examination. Orders appropriate diagnostic test. Reviews and interprets laboratory and take appropriate action. Formulates and records diagnostic impressions. Provides medical advice to patients, care givers and community health providers. Manages chronic medical problems. Documents patient care in the electronic health records system within time limits. Enter orders, consults, testing etcetera into proprietary health management systems. Attends Medical Center and community meeting, seminars and conferences. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: 08:00am to 4:30pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
