Description Your Role: The Clinical Observation Unit Registered Nurse will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Registered Nurse effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Further your professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. Department/Unit Summary: TVC Observation Unit, also known as the Vanderbilt Observation Unit (TOBS), is a 17 bed unit located on the seventh floor of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital. The environment on our faced-paced and unpredictable. As a unit, we value teamwork, knowledge sharing with our patients, and the delivery of quality safe care. We care for adult patients 18 years and older who are being treated for a variety of medical diagnoses. Our patients are unique becaseu of the wide range of medical, surical, and other specialized areas of care. One of the perks of working on our unit is the opportunity to work with a great groupd of peers and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Our nurses are compassionate, have a can-do attitude, and a zeal for learning. We, as a team, are committed to their success and share a common goal in the delivery of evidence-based and quality safe care. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a four-to- six-week unit specific orientation with a dedicated preceptor, nursing education specialist, and leadership team. About the the Vanderbilt Observation Unit : Patient Population Position Shift: This is a PRN Night Shift, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts The schedule is made for six weeks in advance.
