The Salem VA Medical Center is seeking Pulmonary-Critical Care Board Eligible/Certified physician. Ideal Candidate: Proficient in Endobronchial ultrasound and/or Sleep certification would be a bonus.
Job description included a mix of outpatient clinic, as well as in patient consult service and ICU responsibilities. ICU model involves being the primary attending in a closed Medical ICU manned by house staff at a frequency of 1:4 weeks, for a week at a time including the weekends. Position involves education and oversight of trainees during in-patient services including Pulmonary/Critical Care fellows from Carilion VTC program, and IM and FP house staff from the Carilion VTC and Lewis Gale residency programs as well. Our facility is well staffed with all competent & collegial medical sub specialties including (but not limited to) Cardiology, Oncology ID, Renal, Endocrinology, GI and Neurology. We have a close working collaboration with our hospitalists, Interventional radiology, Pathology and Surgery (including Cardiothoracic surgery).
In addition, we have a four-bed sleep lab on hospital premises, plus an active on-site Home sleep testing and CPAP program. We perform EBUS too.
