The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a dynamic leader to develop a new Comprehensive Women’s Health Program through the expansion of our Women’s Health Research Program. This position is made possible by a generous gift from the Melitta S. and Joan M. Pick Charitable Trust and will hold the distinguished title as the Georgia Carroll Chair in Women’s Health. Candidates for this role should be nationally recognized in women’s health and should be engaged in established and funded clinical or outcomes research in women’s health. The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment with the Medical College of Wisconsin and will work collaboratively with providers in multiple areas of expertise to develop this program. Reporting to the Chief of General Internal Medicine, the new Endowed Chair will develop the Comprehensive Women’s Health Program that focuses on gender differences more broadly to spark research, teaching and clinical practice to enhance health outcomes for women throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Froedtert and MCW are at the forefront of new technology and care in many areas, including cancer, heart and vascular diseases, brain injury and disorders, spinal cord injury, transplant, communication disorders, digestive diseases, diabetes, orthopedics, urology and women’s health. A 500-bed hospital, Froedtert, has the only adult Level 1 Trauma Center in eastern Wisconsin. Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center is a level 1A hospital, and is one of the busiest and most comprehensive centers operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Approximately $10 million in research (funded primarily by the VA and the NIH) is conducted by MCW faculty members at the Zablocki VA.
